Methodology
How FIRVELO produces a country ranking
A pipeline, not an opinion. Each stage has an explicit exit condition, and a venue that fails one never reaches a rating.
- 01
Discovery
Continuous sweep of global, regional and local venues — not a fixed list.
- 02
Availability
Can a resident of this country actually open and fund an account?
- 03
Evidence
Primary sources first: terms, fee schedules, licences, status pages.
- 04
Eligibility
A gate, not a score. Insufficient evidence means no rating.
- 05
FIRVELO Rating
Five weighted sub-scores, published with their inputs.
- 06
Ranking
Per country. Never a single global league table.
- 07
Recheck
Scheduled sweeps; every page states its own freshness.
Source hierarchy and confidence
We rank sources before we rank exchanges. Confidence and freshness are published, never implied.
- 1Exchange primary documents (terms, fee schedule, funding pages)
- 2Regulatory registers and licence lookups
- 3Exchange status, incident and attestation pages
- 4Independent market-data providers
- 5Editorial verification pass by a FIRVELO researcher
Indexability gate and disclosure
A page is only indexable when the market behind it meets the evidence threshold.
How we built this ranking
Methodology draft — weights not approvedStep 1
Discovery
Global, regional and country-native venues collected.
Step 2
Availability
Screened for local registration and access.
Step 3
Evidence
Sources checked per claim; thin cases excluded.
Step 4
Eligibility
Gate before any rating is produced.
Step 5
Rating
Explainable dimensions per country.
Step 6
Ranking
Only eligible venues compete for the Top 10.
FIRVELO does not simply list ten famous exchanges. Every venue must clear an eligibility gate — local availability, evidence depth and freshness — before it receives a country rating at all. Venues that fail the gate still appear in the assessed directory with their status and reason.
